We began our cycling along small streets in the Garden District of New Orleans to the lovely bike paths as we left the city. Most of the bike paths ran next to the Mississippi River for fantastic views of the barges and ships on the water.
After a pleasant first day of cycling, we made our home for the night at Houmas House Plantation and Gardens in Darrow, Louisiana. The mansion was fantastic but the gardens were amazing - from the statues, ponds, and gazebos!
Our second night found us at Nottoway Plantation, near White Castle, Louisiana, and along the Mississippi River. Gorgeous views even in our cabins behind this gorgeous mansion.
We stayed at the charming Madewood Plantation, Napoleanville, Louisiana, for our final two nights. This was the only residence we actually stayed inside the main mansion. The precious Andrea was our guide, director, and one-woman show for all history surrounding the Madewood Plantation and area.

After spending five days cycling and five nights enjoying each other's company, these ladies as part of our Woman Tours group are now family. I can not wait to go on another Woman Tours event, and can't wait to see these beautiful ladies again!
